CK is a safe, non-invasive procedure that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to reshape the cornea. CK allows us to reduce the need for reading glasses for patients who enjoy normal distance vision but are frustrated by the need to wear glasses for their near work. CK is a fast, convenient, comfortable, in-office procedure that takes under three minutes.

CK may be the procedure for you if:
  • you began using reading glasses after the age of 40.
  • you have normal distance vision but need to wear glasses for close-up work.
  • you have eye fatigue when reading in poor light or at the end of the day.
  • you have trouble changing focus from distance to near.
  • you have difficulty reading a menu, computer screen or the alarm clock without reading glasses.

Free NearVision CK Screening

Corneal Associates of New Jersey offers complimentary screenings to patients who are interested in learning more about laser vision correction, including LASIK and alternatives.

When you arrive, your glasses or contact lens prescription will be evaluated and the doctor will examine your eyes to make sure they are healthy. You will have an opportunity to ask questions about the CK procedure, the risks and benefits of surgery, and financial options.

A surgical coordinator will be available for all patients who wish to schedule a pre-operative exam and surgery. They will also be able to answer questions regarding financing.

Financing

Most insurance companies do not cover the costs of refractive surgery, however some do provide coverage, so you should always check. We also offer finance plans and can help you identify additional financing options.
